Coworking: the third generation workspace

Typically, we will link an office environment to work. That means if you are a working adult and you have to go to work, where will your office be?

In the last 5 years or so, we started hearing about many jobs or work-from-home opportunities. Therefore, instead of commuting to work, people can work from anywhere, including their bedroom, kitchen, living room, cafes, etc.

The freedom to work from home or in cafes is limited to having access to fully functional office space when you need it.

Coworking Space is the third generation workplace.

The shared workspace provides a shared workspace that is well equipped with office facilities such as work desks and chairs, printing station, meeting rooms, stable and high speed broadband internet connection and a receptionist, if needs it.

It is not a typical office environment where the people around you (also known as colleagues) are employed by the same employer. In a coworking space, you get coworkers, and not colleagues because those people who work alongside you work individually for their respective companies.

The advantages of the third generation workspace are: –

1. Build a community of freelancers: That means you will work alongside a group of motivated people who don’t need instructions from other people on what to do during the day. (The only boss present in a coworking space is you. You are your own boss there. Your co-workers are not employed by the same employer, remember?)

2. A channel for great discussions to take place. Creativity flourishes when limits are removed. Ideas can be drawn from different co-workers who may be of different cultural backgrounds, industry backgrounds, skills, etc.

3. A place for knowledge transfer. One of the benefits of a coworking space is that it allows people of diverse backgrounds to share their skills and experiences with coworkers who are there to learn and grow together as a community. There is a saying that goes, “The more you teach, the more you learn. The more you learn, the more you grow. The more you grow, the more money you make.”

In short, the coworking space is a good alternative workspace as our workload becomes increasingly remote for certain industries. In today’s office environment, most functional organizations are not necessarily internal to make the organization more efficient in its operations.

What drives companies today is the ability of companies to collaborate with different companies that can do things on a larger scale and using fewer resources.

That’s why this third-generation workspace is flexible, easily adaptable, and fast-growing. You have to experience coworking at least once in your life to find out what it feels like to work with a group of unknown and unrelated coworkers.
