Dog collars: luxury pet accessories or must-haves?

There is an accessory that you must have with your dog’s clothes. Now in most places there is a law that says you have to keep your dog on a leash when you take him for a walk. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been out with my chihuahuas and someone comes up with two Labradors or Doberman Pinschers or some giant off-leash breed of dog. The big dog will run up to my chihuahuas and scare them to death. So not only is it illegal, it’s inconsiderate and very frustrating. However, collars and leashes are not only useful for large dogs, they are necessary for small dogs as well. I keep my small canines on a leash even though they are small for their own safety. I don’t want them to hit the road. I especially don’t want them to run up to other dogs and start a fight or get into trouble. So for their own good, I make sure they’re always on a leash. All dog owners should do the same to ensure the safety of their dogs and everyone around them.

Since you have to get a collar or harness anyway, it’s best to get one that fits them well. Just because it’s necessary doesn’t mean it can’t look good. In fact, a good collar or harness can be the best accessory for them, as long as you get one that matches their personality. There are many different types of necklaces available. If you have a high-end dog who likes to look fancy and likes to dress it up, there are leather collars, alligator collars, and even rhinestone collars for those who really want to be fancy. If you have more of a tough guy or tough girl with an attitude that bites more than bark, it’s fun to get a spiked collar. The little metal spikes that stick out create the perfect badass dog look. You don’t have to be a bulldog or a giant dog to pull it off.

In fact, the hottest thing this season is seeing a tiny chihuahua or yorkie wearing a spiked collar. It’s very cute, I love it. If you want a more relaxed and easy look, there are some simple cotton collars available, and there is also a Sherpa collar. Sherpa collars are nice because they have a faux shearling lining on the inside, which makes them very comfortable and useful for an extended period of time.
