Home remedies for cats – How to keep your cat healthy with tonic food

Tonic foods and home remedies for cats are a perfect combination. Tonic foods are energy foods that will dispel any mental and physical lethargy. They will help your cat to recover from an illness and keep it in optimal conditions in the opposite case. Some tonic foods can be given regularly, while others should only be given occasionally when the cat is sick or as a treat.

Potent cat tonic foods include honey; Apple cider vinegar; herbs such as parsley, nettle, catnip, valerian, dandelion, wild garlic, clover, cress, and feverfew; spices like garlic, turmeric, and ginger; grass, seaweed, dried fruits, yogurts, yeast, oils, whole grain brown rice and lentils. This article explains how to prepare and use some of them.

Honey

Honey is not only good for humans, it’s also great for cats. Honey heals and restores. It contains all the minerals and vitamins necessary to sustain life in the exact amount for your cat’s body. It gives energy and renews vitality, but it is also a natural sedative, it purifies, it is antiseptic and it protects the stomach.

When your cat is sick, honey is a good tonic food to feed frequently. You can give your cat honey balls alone or combined with finely chopped herbs and a few drops of apple cider vinegar. To make them less sticky, roll them in cornmeal. At other times, you can feed a ball on a regular basis.

Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar provides potassium, which is vital for the proper function of all major organs on an acid base. In this way, your cat’s body better assimilates potassium.

Apple cider vinegar eliminates rheumatism and arthritis when taken with honey. It sterilizes and destroys harmful bacteria in the digestive tract and removes dangerous acids from the kidneys, soothes the stomach, prevents heart problems and calms the nerves.

A teaspoon of apple cider vinegar diluted in water can be given daily sprinkled on food. Do not put it into drinking water or milk. Adding a few drops of honey makes it even better.

Herbs

Parsley, finely chopped and mixed with the meat, can be included in your cat’s daily diet. Nettle can be added to meat stew. Simmer a few nettle tops for five minutes before adding to food. Dandelion, watercress, wild garlic, clover, and feverfew (all finely chopped) should be fed a teaspoon at a time to help your cat recover from illness.

spices

Turmeric aids digestion and relieves congestion, fights infections, inhibits tumors, prevents dysentery and arthritis, protects the liver, gallbladder, and heart, and fights internal parasites. You can feed it once a week, sprinkling it very sparingly on the meat. If your cat doesn’t like this, feed the same amount in warm milk.

Ginger has a warming effect and acts as a disinfectant. Give a small amount in warm milk. Garlic is a powerful antibiotic and antiprotozoal. It kills microbes and other parasites in your cat’s blood and systems and will ensure your cat stays healthy. Grate a small amount over meat each day (no more than 1/2 teaspoon per day). If your cat doesn’t like it, hide it in honey or cheese.

Yogurt, Yeast and Oils

Natural yogurt is restorative and, in small quantities, can be given several times a week. Yeast is excellent for promoting healing. Feed a small amount of food from time to time. Sesame, corn and sunflower oils are good for your cat. Half a teaspoon can be given on the meat several times a week.

Couchgrass and seaweed

Couchgrass is a strong internal cleanser and contains many minerals and trace elements that your cat needs. If your cat is an outdoor cat, you will probably find it alone. For indoor cats, give one teaspoon, finely chopped, three cloves a week.

Kelp is a cleanser and is rich in iodine. Iodine balances the entire organism. Give ¼ of a seaweed tablet disguised as strong-smelling food daily.

Dried fruit

This may not be an obvious food for cats, but a teaspoon of dried fruit can be given twice a week, chopped into small pieces and mixed with honey, oatmeal and a little cream. Most cats will love it. Make sure your cat drinks plenty of water on these days, as the fruits will absorb liquids from the stomach.
