If you’re on a diet, being hungry is good

If you are looking for fast and effective fat burning, listen carefully. It’s okay to be hungry. Trying to drop those last few pounds quickly can be difficult (like right before a vacation). Avoiding snacking during those hungry times means you’re letting your body burn off some of its stores, also known as fat.

It may be dated, but it works!

Old-school thinking meant that dieting equaled hunger pangs. Then new ideas came up suggesting that it was better to eat small meals throughout the day. In theory, this kept your metabolism running at a higher rate. Unfortunately, this doesn’t work very well for most people.

Do smaller meals work for you?

I have to tell you this is not working for me. No matter how hard I try this “6 small meals” plan, it never makes me slimmer. The problem with having six small meals a day is that your body constantly has some food to burn. Your body never has to use its stores (body fat) for energy. Any exercise or activity simply burns the calories from the food you eat.

Do you eat more like a child?

Children seem to be able to spend all day, playing hard, without being hungry. Staying so busy, having so much fun, almost makes you forget to eat. Until you stopped! Then you would starve, but still you would only eat what you need. Active children often look slim and healthy. Think of eating like a child does!

“My metabolism is not what it used to be”

In general, children do not eat as often as adults. Well, it should specify healthy children. Those who sit with video games and the Internet get obese, but those active kids stay lean and healthy. Staying indoors near food means you will eat more. Adults who are stuck behind a desk all day, or who work near food, are not likely to burn body fat very easily. Staying away from extra foods, being hungry every now and then, can be very good for your metabolism.

Being hungry can mean losing weight

Our bodies don’t really require an endless supply of food. Not that you should starve yourself, but being hungry isn’t always bad. When your body is hungry, it begins to burn its reserve energy (body fat) and you will lose weight. You will see more visible results faster. Being a little hungry before a hard cardio workout will also increase your ability to burn fat. If you want to lose weight, be a little hungry!
