Russian Women’s Secrets: Top Reasons Russian-American Marriages Fail

Although statistics show that Russian-American marriages are quite successful, some of them fail. To prevent failure, there are certain things about Russian women and Russian culture that you should know.

Many marriages, not just Russian-American ones, fail because people have unrealistic expectations of each other and of their marriage. They think marriage is supposed to be a never-ending honeymoon when spouses don’t see each other’s imperfections and don’t have disagreements of any kind.

Some western men assume that because Russian women are so popular, they must be perfect. They will always remain attractive; they will be perfect cooks, mothers and lovers, and will be grateful to their husbands just for marrying them. It goes without saying that men who have their hopes up for Russian women end up disappointed in their wives and their marriages.

Russian women make great wives, but they are far from perfect. They are human, so they have their flaws and imperfections, and like any other marriage, marriage to a Russian woman takes work.

Another reason why Russian-American marriages fail is the large age difference between the spouses. Russian women mature and marry earlier, so it is not uncommon for them to marry older Western men. However, the age difference of 20 years or more can be a problem, especially later on.

A small percentage of Russian-American marriages fail due to cultural differences and an inability to adjust to each other’s culture. This is usually not a problem if both spouses studied each other’s culture before getting married. Russian women generally complement American men very well and both cultures work very well together. But people who are completely unaware of their partner’s culture will experience culture shock, which can be dangerous for their marriage.
