Bomb Queen II – Dirty Bomb

The second exchange in the Bomb Queen saga was as satirical as the first. Jimmie Robinson continues his nasty comment on our society through the grimy lens of New Port City. I have a LOVE / HATE relationship with this comic series. I LOVE the plot, setting and premise of the Bomb Queen story; but I HATE nudity, rawness and obscene humor. Essentially, you have to choose whether it is worth it to you. As soon as I had read 5 pages of this operation, I said to myself: “I am not going to get the next one.” But when he turned the last page, he was saying, “Okay, just one more.”

Bomb Queen is looking for love and companionship, and when an unusual man with a charming accent and gentlemanly manners causes her to lose her mind. This makes her lower her guard, and the man is not all that he appears to be. In this volume, we learn the history of Bomb Queen. How she used to be one of the many queens: Ice Queen, Scream Queen, Drama Queen, and Bomb Queen. Ice Queen had powers very similar to Ice-Man or Mr. Freeze. Scream Queen could tear people apart with the sonic powers of her voice. Drama Queen would grow to enormous proportions if someone angered her. This exchange covers how she came to be the only queen to rule Newport City, and how that rise to the top was not as easy (or sought after) as we imagine. Damn Jimmie Robinson for making me have to buy the next one.
