Easter Bunny

In my family, the Easter holidays are a big problem. In most families, unless the family is very religious, the Easter holiday is something that passes without much attention. You can hunt for some Easter eggs, eat a chocolate Easter bunny, and have chicken and eggs for lunch, but that’s about it. My mom, however, has turned the Easter bunnies into a religion.

A long time ago, when we were children, our parents used to dress up as Easter bunnies. We were smart kids: we recognized them in costume, but we loved that they were playing pretend with us. We also enjoyed the fact that they gave us delicious chocolate Easter bunnies when they were dressed up! Nothing compares to a chocolate Easter bunny in the minds of children all over the world. Not only are they cute, sparkly, and substantial, but they’re made entirely of chocolate! We’d also get creamy Cadbury eggs, colorful Easter cards, and the chance to put up Easter decorations with our parents. However, the most enjoyable part of the day was the Easter egg hunt.

My parents would actually prepare everything: the exciting Easter egg hunt, the decorations, the food, dressing up as Easter bunnies. To some people, this might seem a bit strange, but for us kids, it was one of the most delicious things you can imagine. Seeing your mommy and daddy get big, fluffy and give bunny hugs is something any child could appreciate!

Easter bunnies: memories that can never be forgotten

Every year the Easter egg hunt was different. My parents had traditions, but they didn’t exactly have routines to follow. No two years were exactly the same because they could never remember how they did everything the year before. Some years, the Easter bunnies would invite all of our friends and family, and we would have an Easter egg hunt that could beat anything else in the world. Other years, on the other hand, it was a pretty small affair. Sometimes, during rainy days, all the Easter eggs were hidden inside the house. Other years, we would finish the egg hunt early so our “Easter bunnies” could take us to the zoo where we could see real rabbits! The only thing the different years had in common was that it was always about Easter and it was always about having fun. Easter holidays are some of my warmest childhood memories, memories that will never be forgotten.
