How to Spend 10 Days in Seychelles

Spend 10 Days in Seychelles

Seychelles is a tropical paradise with an endless array of beautiful beaches, lush jungle scenery and crystal-clear waters. This makes it the perfect destination for any traveller seeking a relaxing break.

The first thing to note is that there are 115 islands in the country, but 99% of the population lives on Mahe, Praslin and La Digue. Getting around the islands is simple since they are all connected by ferries, making it easy to explore more than one at once.

To get an idea of what the islands have to offer, here are a few things you can do in the area:

Victoria

When you’re staying in the capital city of Seychelles, it’s a good idea to make some time to visit Victoria Market. This bustling market is a great place to find souvenirs and a variety of local products. It also is a wonderful place to take in the culture and traditions of the people of this island nation.

Morne Seychellois National Park

Located in the southwest of the largest island of Seychelles, Morne Seychellois is home to a range of natural wonders. With its multi-hued waters, lush tropical rainforest and awe-inspiring rock formations, this national park is sure to impress!

What To Do in Seychelles

If you’re a nature lover, book yourself a guided tour of Morne Seychellois National Park to explore its rich blend of flora and fauna. You’ll be able to enjoy a scenic hike through the mangroves and along some of the most stunning rock formations.

Another thing to do in this part of the world is to try some of the delicious creole seafood available. This includes coconut crab curry, smoked fish salads and barbecued prawns.

Activities to Enjoy in Seychelles

You can sample these dishes in a number of restaurants but we recommend Les Rochers. This is an excellent restaurant with a gorgeous terrace overlooking the beach. It’s a great spot for watching the sunset.

Curieuse Island

On a day trip from Praslin, you can visit Curieuse Island which is a small granitic island with only about 10 mins by boat. The island is famous for the Aldabra tortoise and there are thousands of them living here, so it’s a must-see when visiting this part of Seychelles.

Things to Experience in Seychelles

After exploring this part of the island, you can go for a walk on Anse Georgette which is another gorgeous beach that’s a little undeveloped but worth a visit. It’s a great spot for a picnic, but it’s not advisable to swim here because of the strong currents in the water.

If you’re looking for an alternative, consider taking a ferry over to La Digue and spending the day in the secluded beach town. It’s only a short ferry ride away from Praslin and it is a lovely place to relax on the beach!

La Digue is a great choice for beach lovers as it has some of the most pristine beaches in Seychelles. This is a perfect place to spend an afternoon relaxing on the beach and then head to La Digue’s town centre for some shopping, dining or a nice drink.
