HTC Wildfire: aesthetic appeal meets Android technology

Once again, the renowned smartphone manufacturer HTC has used the increasingly popular Android operating system in one of its latest phones, the HTC Wildfire. With an impressive list of specs, this attractive phone also retains a high level of aesthetic appeal.

The HTC Wildfire is a pocket phone thanks to its compact dimensions of 106.8 x 60.4 x 12mm with a light weight of 118g. Mini users will surely be drawn to the slim profile of this attractive phone.

To navigate the HTC Sense user interface, a 3.2-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen is used that also offers excellent on-screen image display quality thanks to a 240×320 pixel layout that can display up to 16 millions of colors to perfection. To view video files and photos in portrait and landscape format, an accelerometer sensor is included that automatically rotates the content on the screen according to the orientation of the phone.

Users have the opportunity to use the song of their choice (in MP3 format) as their ringtone, a feature that works in conjunction with vibration to alert them to incoming calls and messages. With an easy-to-use speakerphone system and 3.5mm audio jack, users have options for hands-free communication on the go.

In addition to its standard memory and storage, HTC Wildfire features a built-in micro SD card slot that can handle up to a 32GB memory card. This offers the opportunity to store entire digital music collections along with a large number of video clips and other file types.

HTC Wildfire employs various connectivity methods to stay connected to the Internet and cellular networks. GPRS and EDGE are provided in class 10 versions that provide access to cellular networks. Internet access relies primarily on 3G coverage, so an HSDPA connection provides speeds of up to 7.2 megabytes per second. In areas where wireless Internet routers are found, built-in Wi-Fi technology works to provide a faster Internet connection. Various compatible hardware devices can be connected wirelessly and directly thanks to Bluetooth and micro USB connections.

In addition to the ability to record video footage, the integrated 5-megapixel digital camera offers an easy-to-use method of taking high-quality still images and works at a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. Its features include autofocus, smile detection and an LED flash to overcome the obstacle of low-light conditions. Geotagging is another included feature that works thanks to GPS and automatically records the location where a photo was taken.

The versatility of the Android operating system is combined with a 528 MHz Qualcomm processor to provide seamless switching between apps at ultra-fast speeds. All types of users are catered for thanks to a long list of included features and apps. A host of entertainment features range from a versatile media player, stereo FM radio player and a selection of pre-installed games along with social media integration and access to the Android Market where additional applications can be downloaded.

With its large number of applications available, both standard and available for download, the HTC Wildfire offers impressive levels of versatility in functionality while retaining an aesthetically pleasing exterior.
