Samsung F700 vs. Apple iPhone – Which is the best?

While everyone and their grandmother was freaking out about how awesome the iPhone has been, there was a company that sat down and realized the drawbacks of the iPhone and has created a device that takes advantage of all the loop holes that were left open in the Iphone. Samsung F700 is the product that the fans of the company claim to be the killer of the iPhone. Let’s see how sharp the blades of this device are.

Now the front panel of both phones is the same in the years when both phones have only one button on the front. The rest is the touch screen. The phone comes with a 2.78-inch touch screen compared to the iPhone’s 3.5-inch screen. So Apple’s product wins this one hands down. But this is pretty much all the iPhone has to be happy about.

Samsung F700 is a 3G phone unlike the iPhone which comes with 2.5G support along with EDGE. Hell! Samsung has even released a chip capable of 7.2Mbps.

Now, the iPhone comes with only a 2-megapixel camera. Samsung announced that the phone would come with a 5-megapixel camera, but dropped only a 3-megapixel camera, which is still better than the 2MP option.

The next thing Samsung has done on this phone is that the company put in a thumb-swipe QWERTY keyboard like some of HTC’s Windows Mobile phones. This means you don’t have to rely on the touch screen for all functions. On the other hand, at the time this comparison was made, neither device supported native third-party apps, although Apple announced the release of the iPhone API by the end of February 2008.

The phone is an excellent multimedia device and comes with extensive codec and file format support. You get several music and video options, including some that are compatible with the iPhone and those that people wanted the iPhone to support.
