The best of downtown St. Petersburg nightlife

Whether you’ve just moved to the area or are on vacation, discover downtown St. Petersburg, featuring a unique mix of upscale nightclubs, lounges, and casual dives. So if you’re looking for something to do tonight, check out these popular hangouts for locals and tourists alike.

Push Ultra Lounge

This 10,000-square-foot, two-level nightclub features a large dance floor and rooftop bar overlooking all of downtown St. Petersburg. Music includes everything from Friday Night House Invasion to Saturday Night Vibe to a Saturday Night Rooftop House Party with live bands. Dress code is required and does not include hats, shorts or flip flops.

bishop’s tavern

A funky New Orleans-style bar featuring the best of Top 40 music, it’s a casual place to go in jeans after a Rays game or concert. However, you’ll need to dress up a bit to head upstairs, where you’ll find Bishop Lounge, Bishop’s newest addition. Bishop Lounge features a more upscale scene, with a low-key club vibe that includes two levels, three balconies, both indoor and outdoor VIP seating, and full liquor bars. Flip flops are not allowed.

master’s degree

If you’re looking for something more casual and don’t want to spend a lot of money, Mastry’s is the place to be. You can have a night of fun and get a good buzz for under $20. Seriously! Considered one of the best nightclubs in St. Pete, it’s a local hangout, but visitors are always welcome. Great place to relax after seeing a show at Jannus Live.

the independent

A small bar located on 3rd street north, The Independent features an extensive menu of hard-to-find beers from around the world. The informal setting provides the perfect setting for a night out chatting with friends. It can get crowded inside, so get there early. The outdoor seating is the best and offers a true “people watcher’s paradise” on a cool Florida night.

Crowley’s

Located on Central Avenue, Crowley’s is a casual Irish pub that offers the kind of neighborhood vibe you’d expect from a popular local pub, plus the added bonus of good food. It’s the best place to go for a burger and beer after a Rays game (you can take a trolley ride to these games from several Treasure Island Beach Rentals and St. Pete Beach Condos) or a football game in Al Langfield. Comfy seats, doesn’t get too crowded and open until 3am

ultra-vintage living room

Located on North 2nd Street, Vintage Ultra Lounge is a cross between a lounge and a nightclub, with high-energy dance music including house, techno, hip-hop, top-40 and more. It has many layers to sit on and plenty of room to dance. Dress code is required, so no flip flops for girls or boys. If you’re visiting the area, just steps away from several St. Petersburg condos.
