The best way to get people to join your network marketing business

When you’re in network marketing, everyone you come across in your daily interactions is a potential customer or business partner. But you can’t go into your interactions thinking, “I’m going to recruit this person.” You will need a different mindset to truly achieve success in your MLM recruiting efforts.

People in general talk too much and don’t listen enough. They always have an agenda, and that is to be listened to themselves, instead of listening to the other person. You can’t get people to join your network marketing business that way. You will have to be different. You will have to show interest in people. There is no more powerful way than listening.

Listening is one of the most valuable skills in successful MLM recruiting. Learn to ask good questions. If you ask a question that gives someone a chance to talk about themselves, and then shut your mouth and listen, you’ll instantly set yourself apart from 95% of everyone else they meet. Suddenly, here is someone in front of them who is really interested in them. That instantly begins to break down barriers and starts the process of building relationships.

A great conversation format for MLM recruiting is FORM (family, occupation, recreation, message). FORM helps you remember the right kind of questions to ask. They don’t have to be in the order listed, but you’ll find that it’s a pretty natural progression for any conversation.

F-Family

Family questions can include where the person is from, where they went to school, who they know that you might know, how many siblings they have, etc.

O-Occupation

You can simply ask them: “What kind of work do you do?”, “How long have you been doing that?” or “What do you like about that?”

R-Recreation

Ask the person what they like to do for fun, what are some of their favorite places to visit, or where their dream vacation would be.

Message M

Although it is not necessary to follow the exact order of the FORM, it is essential that you save your message for the end of the conversation, AFTER you have asked good questions. You will need to have been listening, so that you can address a need or desire that has arisen. Example: “Joe, I noticed you said you don’t like your job and wish you could find something to make better money. Are you open to the idea of earning some extra money part-time?”

because you have listened and I knew that Joe It is not he likes his job and he does it wants to make more money, you can invite him to see your business as a possible solution. However, if Joe loves his work, his invitation will focus on a different need that comes up in the conversation.

When you start listening, you open the door and people start sharing. They share their thoughts, wants, and needs that you can address.

I will share a short story from my own life about the power of asking questions and taking a genuine interest in people. Recently, I met up with a friend from high school and his wife. It’s funny, because in the back of my mind, I’ve always thought that maybe he would want to join my network marketing business.

At dinner, I asked his wife questions that opened the door for her to share about herself. She enthusiastically shared how she loves the company she works with, BUT wants to build her own self empire. He became very passionate about the business ideas he has had and his desire to start a business. Then it happened. She said, “Tell me about the business you’re in.”

BOOM! There she was. Open door. He led to a follow-up meeting where I gave him my business presentation. All because I asked the right questions, shut my mouth, opened my ears, and listened.

So how do you get people to join your network marketing business? How do you create clients? Ask questions that give people a chance to talk about themselves and listen.
