Wedding Invitation Wording Etiquette – Bride and Groom Invitation

Writing your wedding invitation the right way is something you need to do right the first time. Reprinting costs for your invitations are an unnecessary expense you don’t need on top of everything else, and a little research and planning could make all the difference. Who pays for the wedding? The main bill payer of the event is always mentioned first. Today many couples contribute most of the costs and therefore names must be mentioned as ‘hosts’ or invite guests to witness and celebrate their wedding with them.

Make your wedding invitation personal and heartfelt and set the mood you expect with your words and verses. A complete wedding invitation will display all the information necessary for your guests to attend your wedding, such as date, time, location, directions, dress code, and RSVP information.

Ideally, your wedding invitations should be sent out at least 8 weeks before your wedding date, however you may need to send invitations or Save the Date cards to overseas guests well in advance, up to six months, before the wedding date so they can arrange flights. and lodging. Save the date cards are a great idea if you want to let your friends know your wedding date, but you haven’t finalized the specific arrangements yet.

Information about the wishing well or gift registry should never be included in the main text of the invitation. There are separate cards available for this that can be included inside the envelope.

If a bride and groom are only invite-only, here is an example wording;

The bride’s name and the groom’s name solicit the pleasure of the company of guests at their marriage celebration on Saturday 25th February 2010 at St. Anne’s Church, 25 Church St Sydney, NSW at 4:00pm and then at Diamond Reception Center 345 Pacific Hwy Hornsby, New South Wales, etc.

Names of guests The pleasure of your company is requested at the wedding of the bride and groom on Saturday 25th February 2010 at 25 St. Anne’s Church, Church St Sydney, NSW at 4pm and then Diamond Reception Center 345 Pacific Hwy Turramurra, New South Wales, etc.

It may be the case that you want to include the names of the parents within the information and such wording could be as follows;

Name of the bride and name of the groom Along with their parents The names of the parents of the bride and the names of the parents of the groom invite the names of the guests to their wedding at the address of the church St. Anne’s Church and then at the place of reception and address. ETC.

A simpler version without mentioning the real names of the parents can be;

Along with your parents, the bride’s name and the groom’s name, they would love to invite the names of your wedding guests at the address of St. Anne’s Church and then at the reception location and address . ETC.

Of course, you can use a margin to the left as shown above or, more traditionally, center the text in the middle of the invitation.

Below is an example of an informal letter-style invitation;
