What about anger?

The issue of anger came up often in Edgar Cayce readings, regardless of the age of the person receiving the readings. Here is a selection of these comments:

The influences of Mars, as we see, make one often show their anger, their resentment, in associations, in those things that are very close to the inner man. However, through the sojourns on Venus and Jupiter, that fact has been brought to the attention of the inner being: He without temper or resentment or care can manifest very little. And the one who does not control resentment, the one who does not control anger, the one who does not control that impulse for selfishness in itself, is truly worse than the one who does not have it; for such can give rise to stumbling blocks and experiences that bring distraction and disturbance, not only of the self as regards the thoughts of the self, but also of the neighbor.

For, as has often been said in experiences on earth, unless the high ideal is established, or unless the self-ideal is established in the spiritual attributes that partake of the creative Forces or energies that can manifest in or through Through men in their material activity, little of value or value can come – and less of soul growth for its return to its former state with and in the creative energies that can manifest in the spiritual, mental or material world. Unless the activities are based on the spirit of the Creative Forces, they will eventually fade away. 956-1

On Mars we find a tendency of the body-mind to become easily angered at times. Anger is right, as long as it is governed. Because it is like material things on earth that are not governed. There is power even in anger. He who gets angry and does not sin controls himself. He who is angry and allows it to become the expression of self-contempt, or self-indulgence in any direction, brings to himself those things which partake of the spirit of that which is the product or influence of anger itself. . 361-4

Form or teach your associates not only to be worth but to be worth something, for an ideal! Not like country, but just being kind, just being kind, patient, long-suffering and with brotherly love is greater than those who can lift many weights or demolish many cities. Because the one who is able to control the temper of his furnace, his own purpose, is greater than the one who can take seven cities. So, let your activities be such that “The Law of the Lord is always before me”, if you want to find harmony and peace in your stay in the present. 1610-2

No doubt, the entity loses patience easily; but who knows but oneself? While this is okay, sometimes it’s also okay to let your feelings run wild. As He said: “Be angry, but do not sin; do not condemn anyone; do not curse anything or body; be angry, yes, but in the Lord”. 2778-2

It is good that anger and its capacity for expression exist, but woe to those who allow it to become a stumbling block and cause hatred, malice and injustice to treat their fellow men in any way! Because, truly, as soon as you do it to the least of your brothers, you do it to your Maker; and you must meet yourselves and that kind of soul that you present to your Maker. Because you must, like everyone else, stand before Him and be judged according to the measure that you have given to your neighbor! 2132-1

The entity is Uranian. Hence intuition, the entity’s ability to see those things that belong to the humorous or ridiculous in any experience or activity. These have often been the saving experience in difficult circumstances for the entity.

Never lose your temper and you will not get angry as often. 3006-1

The entity becomes very sensitive at times, and at such times it gets irritated, loses its temper, says things it doesn’t mean, but is so sincere that if it has said a word, it will stick to it even if it hurts. All the time. Hard headed, pessimistic. These are the flaws. Correct them in their associations. First, have a reason to correct them, not just to be talked about, not just to get along with people, but because it’s right! Because remember, each virtue has its own reward – in the application of that virtue in experience with others.

Don’t act out so often by letting your temper get away with it that you really feel ashamed of yourself. And don’t get so boastful about those activities. Well, these are gradually building those things that can become stumbling blocks throughout the experience or stay.

Minimize everyone’s faults, magnify everyone’s virtues. Seek to know where you agree with each person or friend you meet, what they have in common. Expand on those things that would bring you closer, emphasizing those that you agree on. Ignore those you disagree with, not simply because you want to be popular, but rather because through your activities, through your choice of associations, you can manifest the glory of the Son as He manifested the Father on earth.

Because the Master, Jesus, even the Christ, is the model for every man on earth, whether Gentile or Jew, Parthian or Greek. Because everyone has the pattern, whether they call on that name or not; but there is no other name given under heaven by which men can be saved from themselves.

And since you find yourself in yourselves, only you must save yourself from: stubbornness and your pessimism! 3528-1
