Don’t let your dog sleep around it: buy a designer dog bed

Cockapoo, Peekapoo, Labradoodle, Puggle and Schnoodle are just a few of the names dog owners have given to pups from an unscheduled night out on the town. Gone are the newspaper ads that read “puppies: free to a good home.” Dog owners are quick to assign one of these fancy breed names as if they’re AKC-certified, charging top dollar for puppies once considered “mutts.” They are now considered “designer dogs” and make as much money as thoroughbreds.

Most of us have or have had a “designer dog” (pooch) in the past and they make excellent dogs, generally healthier, friendlier and more tempered than their purebred counterparts. They really are worth every penny we pay.

Given that we now pay a lot of money for these “adorable pooches”, one could only assume that it’s worth spending a little extra money to get them a designer dog bed. On those cold winter nights, you don’t want your best friend sleeping on the hard floor or falling apart on your new couch. Buying him a high-quality bed may be the only way to stop him from sleeping.

A warm and soft bed is beneficial for you and your dog. As tempting as it may be to visit the new dog on the block, she’s not going to leave her comfy bed to walk out the dog gate and through the tunnel under the back fence.

Don’t let your dog sleep around it. Get him his own designer dog bed and he’ll want to stay home at night. You don’t want to be responsible for tomorrow’s newspaper ads that say “Designer Labracockerbulldoodlepitt puppies for sale.”
