Download Windows Live Messenger 9 – Creating a global community

Windows Live Messenger 9, created by Microsoft, is an instant messaging client that is the latest update to an already very popular service. It uses text to facilitate communication between two people, electronically. For people with Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows, and Windows Server 2003 and 2008, download Windows Live Messenger 9 to take advantage of all its core functionality and recently updated features.

This newly updated version is also compatible with Windows Mobile. Originally called MSN Messenger, it was released on July 22, 1999. Due to updates and increased functionality, it was renamed on December 13, 2005, to Windows Live Messenger. It also connects to Microsoft’s .NET messaging service.

This can be used by Microsoft products as well as third party client software. Using proprietary instant messaging protocols, it can be used by anyone with an active Windows Live ID. This allows people to log in and communicate with others who are already active on the network instantly. When users download Windows Live Messenger 9, they not only get instant messaging capabilities, but they also get access to many of its other new features. One of the features that add to its functionality is folder sharing. This method can be used instead of a direct transfer method to deliver files to other people on the network.

Users can place the file in a “shared folder” for a specific person to access. PC to phone calls are also supported by Verizon. For those who download Windows Live Messenger 9, it is branded “Verizon Web Calling” and allows you to make a call from a PC to a phone. Until then, PC calls had been limited to other PCs. To make Live Messenger 9 more flexible and able to reach more users, they partnered with Yahoo allowing interoperability between the two messengers. Their combined user base instantly grew to encompass 40% of users worldwide.

To take advantage of this flexibility, users must download MSN Messenger or Windows Live Messenger 9 for it to appear as “available.” Even when a user signs out, messages will still arrive in your account and will be available when you’re back online. To attract a larger audience, games and other applications can be accessed in the chat window. Starting in May 2007, Live Messenger 9 was also included in the Xbox 360 dashboard update. Players can see the Gamertags of their friends connected to Xbox Live. This allows them to chat during games or while watching the moves. This program facilitates communication on a variety of platforms and mediums to create a truly global community.
