Facing a DUI but still need to drive?
A Pennsylvania occupational limited license may give you the ability to continue driving
If you have a non-commercial driver’s license that has been or will soon be suspended as a result of a DUI in PA, you may be eligible for a PA or OLL limited occupational license. With a PA or OLL limited occupational license, you will be permitted to drive under limited circumstances, including:
oTo/from work
o To perform the tasks necessary for your occupation or trade
oTo/from medical treatment
oTo/from school or purposes related to your education
Eligibility for a PA limited occupational license will depend on a variety of factors. PennDOT frequently denies OLL requests on the basis that there was a refusal to submit to chemical testing or as a result of a prior DUI offense. A person who has been convicted of a first offense PA DUI is not eligible for an OLL until the person has served at least 60 days of the license suspension.
To obtain a limited PA occupational license, you must:
Complete the PennDOT DL-15 form
oSend the completed form along with the corresponding fee
Wait for PennDOT to approve the license
oTake the OLL camera card you receive from PennDOT to the nearest Photo Licensing Center so you can have your picture taken and receive your OLL
