Five Common Potty Training Problems

You have been collecting almost all the guides on toilet training, but you have not found this one that tells you the most common problems in this training process. So, you’re in luck! You have come to the right place.

Now let’s take a look at them. You’ll know you’re not alone if you experience any of these problems.

1. A child who will urinate but not poop in the toilet.

You are a normal parent if you face this problem! Your son is a pretty normal kid too! A child who urinates in the toilet, but does not have a bowel movement, has not made a connection between the toilet, urination, and bowel movements. Child psychologists aren’t sure why this happens, but they say that he must show his child support. Talk to him about where the poop belongs, but don’t try to force him to poop in the toilet. He will make the connection with maturity.

2. Children who are afraid of falling down the toilet.

This is an understandable concern! I would also be afraid of falling into the bathroom! First things first, did you buy the right toilet seat cushion for the toilet? Is the toilet cushion secured to the toilet? Do you have a step stool to help your child get on and off the toilet? If the answers to all of these questions are yes, then the problem could be related to your child’s maturity.

In this case, I would recommend trying a free-standing toilet. It feels safer for a child to be on the ground level with the toilet. Maybe your child isn’t comfortable with heights, and in that case, a free-standing toilet could make a world of difference.

3. A boy hides from the pot and has an accident.

Ask yourself a couple of questions related to this. Is your child ready to use the potty? I’m willing to say no if he’s running out of the bathroom and hiding. It is critical at this point not to try to bribe, persuade, coerce, or threaten your child into using the potty.

Remember, it all depends on your will as to whether you will use this potty. In this case, it looks like your will says no! There is no right or wrong here. Some children will pick it up right away. Other children will do it when they are ready!

4. A potty-trained child suddenly refuses to use the potty.

I never had this problem! I consider myself lucky! I can understand if this is a problem you are facing. It is confusing for parents. The boy is also a bit puzzled. He may have decided that he doesn’t want to use the potty as easily as he decided he wanted to! The only thing I can say is that you have to take it one day at a time. Show patience and understanding with a touch of restraint.

5. Children washing the bed.

This is a common problem, so you’re not alone! Bedwetting is especially common in young children. Doctors say that boys’ urinary systems do not develop at the rate of girls. This is why bedwetting is a big problem for them. In any case, you will want to show your son or daughter a lot of love during this time. We’ve talked about that a lot throughout this book. It is perhaps the greatest combination that will help you as your child reaches this milestone.
