Four secrets to making gold in WoW

Anyone who has played World of Warcraft over the last few years should know the WoW gold cap, it’s the number around 214,700 gold that you no longer receive gold at due to coding formulas and the way Blizzard calculates the gold in the game. While the number has been hinted at in the past, many more players have reached the gold cap in Wotlk due to the gold increases for quests and the ease of farming professions. Here are four secrets that anyone can use to help reach the golden cap!

1. Choose the correct occupations!

In general, agricultural and craft professions work better. In my personal experience there are three great gold making professions which include but are not limited to:

Herbalism: to grow rare herbs and sell them.

Mining: Go through specific routes and extract all the best ore and then transmute or melt it into other items to sell for even more money.

Jewelry: sell dragon eye and other rare gems.

2. Get the best accessories!

The second step is to get the best plugins that will give you the most help to earn gold in World of Warcraft in the easiest and simplest way possible. To help you get a handle on the auction house, Auctioneer or Auctionator would be your best bet. You may also want to grab postcards which will help collect gold from your mailbox as it starts to arrive! If you have the Herbalism profession, you may also want to pick up the Gatherer plugin as it will help you keep track of the herbs you have already collected.

3. Keep farming and searching!

Quests can bring in large amounts of gold, especially daily quests like Jewelry and Fishing! Never stop making them. Do the weekly raid quests and Wintergrasp PvP quests too! After completing all the Wintergrasp quests for the week, you can exchange Honor Points for rare gems or other items that you can sell on the auction house to earn lots of gold!

4. Learn to manage the Auction House.

Quests are always a great way to get gold in WoW, but the difference between high rollers and newbies lies in how the player uses the Auction House. The key to making large amounts of gold is knowing how to control your servers market for any specific item(s) on the auction house. Buying low and selling high is always the key to success. Buying items cheaply in the trade channel and selling them at higher prices is usually the way to go!
