Introduction to Stand Up Paddle

It was two years ago that I first saw someone casually surfing on a thick surfboard.

But the scenario has undergone many changes in such a short time. Many people with their homes near a lake have come across someone who plays this sport or have heard of it. Stand up paddle boarding is the fastest growing water sport in the world. SUP short for “Fully stand up paddle” is another name it’s known by these days.

This is not a new sport, as the indigenous tribes of French Polynesia were known centuries ago to sit on wooden logs. In the early 1950s, people who had gone to Hawaii on vacation could see beach boys rowing around the various islands with long wooden oars on their surfboards. Today’s stand-up paddling boards are wide, not as heavy as the old ones, move faster, and there are a wide variety of colors and designs available.

Today, surfing on bodies of water is fully enjoyed by people all over the world. Now, many countries such as Canada, Germany, France, Italy and Australia organize races and competitions, and they are attended by people who have never participated in such a competition before.

There is a wide variety of stand up paddle boards on the market, whether you are interested in an adventure in the sea or surfing in the calm waters of a pond. You can see people using the boards to fish or go down fast-flowing rivers, some are also fans of paddle surfing on lakes, behind motor boats with no rope attached.

One of the main problems encountered by people looking to buy a vertical table is the choice of brand, size, shape, design and color. There are many items available with the plethora of new makes and models entering the market day after day. The board you choose should be sized large enough for your height and weight so that you can stand firmly on it. You would also have to choose the board based on the type of paddling you have decided to do.

You need different types of boards if you are going to surf waves or cover a long distance. Usually, people prefer to buy a table that serves more purposes than one. Such boards are normally 10’6 to 11’6 long, about 29 inches wide, with a thickness of about four to five inches.

Most paddle board companies have a product that would be useful for both wave surfing and flat water surfing. Although commercially available stand up paddle boards are available from $150 to $400, dual purpose stand up paddle boards are in the $1000 to $2000 range.

This sport has its own benefits, which are not limited only to enjoyment. It has many advantages for our health, and above all it is the perfect exercise for the abdomen area.
