John Dory Recipe and Calories

A very healthy fish that is often overlooked when it comes to cooking is the John Dory. This Mediterranean fish tastes amazing, very, very healthy, but there seem to be few recipes available on the net regarding how to cook it, and almost none that are healthy (they all seem to include double cream somewhere on their ingredient list) . .

Well, that kind of John Dory recipe is not good for those of us trying to lose weight and lose our belly.

Firth, however, let us show you how healthy a fish really is by showing you how many calories it contains (and other nutritional information).

This is per 150g serving

Calories: 116 kcal (perfect for low calorie diets)

Protein: 26 g (which makes it ideal for high protein diets)

Fat: 1g

Of which saturated: 0.5 g

Weight Watchers Points: 2

As you can see, there aren’t really many calories, and it’s VERY suitable for high-protein, low-fat diets. It is a very healthy fish when cooked well.

So how do you go about cooking it in a healthy way? Probably the best way is to poach it.

One of the most popular dishes with my family and friends is fish and chips, but the problem is how unhealthy it is, with a large amount of fat trying to clog the arteries. This recipe attempts to address that problem by providing you with a healthy John Dory recipe to serve with French fries.

It is also one of the fastest and easiest recipes in the world!

Place the fillets in a saucepan with boiling water and a splash of white wine. Leave it for 5 minutes or so until it flakes easily and is cooked through.

In the meantime, grab a package of McCains microwave chips (or if you prefer, grill some low-fat chips – I use microwave ones as they limit my quantity and I have specific weight control points) and cook them based on the instructions. .

With 3 minutes for the fish, put a tomato.

When the fish is done, serve it on a plate with the tomato, fries and a couple of pickled onions; add salt and pepper and voila. A simple 5 minute way to cook delicious and healthy fish that fits all diets.
