Keep working and live a hundred years

After a man retires from work or business, the main problem he faces is the aging process. Apart from the problem of loneliness, lack of work, aging appears as a great challenge and also as a setback in life. It comes in the form of disease and degeneration of the body. The end of this process seems to be death, which is very gruesome.

In all ages, men have tried to overcome the aging process and the fear of death. The ancient saints and sages of India have given both a philosophical and a practical solution to this problem. The first two hymns of the Isha Upanishad teach us to be self-reliant and to keep working so that man can live a hundred or countless years. Without work, the man has a short life.

Most of the philosophical literatures have not been truly interpreted. If they are truly interpreted, men will get pure pleasure and joy in life. Longevity will be extended automatically. The two hymns of the Isha Upanishad have also not been truly interpreted. Due to the grace of my late master, I will interpret them in their purest form. Readers will find that the meaning is valid for all ages. The first hymn teaches: whatever living being that inhabits the world here, God resides in all of them. So enjoy what he gives you and do not seek the wealth of others.

Here it is taught that God lives only in living beings. A living being is the home of God. So don’t look for God elsewhere. When a man realizes that God is within his Being, he must enjoy only what He gives him. God has given us this body and life, sense organs to feel and enjoy the outside world; hands and legs to work and win. By earning and spending on himself, man enjoys the world more. All of this happens because God lives within. You must depend on yourself and not depend on the wealth and earnings of others. One should not depend on the profits, donations or alms of others.

Continuing with the first hymn that the second hymn teaches, in this way you keep working here and wanting to live a hundred or countless years. Oh man! there is no other alternative for you than this. When you keep working this way, nothing sticks to the job, that is, you are not bound by the job.

So keep working while keeping the politics of self-reliance and longevity in mind. There is no alternative or easy way for man. Work is life, idleness is death. By working one dissipates aging and the fear of death. When you work for self-reliance and longevity, your work remains pure. You are not bound by work. He remains free and has no attachment to the world. A free and self-reliant man can live for countless years overcoming the fear of death.
