Must Have School Supplies for Students: What You Should Know

As back-to-school season approaches, it’s time to start thinking about a trendy and convenient way to carry school supplies and other necessities. While some of you may start school in a week or so, most schools won’t start for another month. That got me thinking about the best way to shop for school supplies: how should we budget our money for the back-to-school season? Here in this article, we will discuss which school supplies are really essential and should we pay for quality?

Pencil cases, pens, stencils, art boxes, and backpacks are crying out for you to buy and fill them. What school supplies should we spend money on? There are essentials and nonessentials, but while something may not be essential to another child, it doesn’t necessarily mean your child doesn’t need it. School supply lists are longer than they used to be a few years ago; children are more active in the classroom today.

Backpacks

Full-size backpack trends change every year, when supply stores are full of them before the back-to-school rush. Current backpack trends include retro backpack styles and colors, bright colors and patterns, abstract patterns and black, red and white, and backpacks equipped with slots and pockets for the latest tech. Look for durable zippers that can be easily pulled up and down, and check that seams are double-stitched and secure.

Whether you need durability, safety, or just another fashion accessory to add to your child’s already fabulous back-to-school outfit, there’s a backpack with your child’s name on it. You can also choose a waterproof backpack that will keep your books and paper dry.

clipboard

Have you ever noticed that after sitting at a desk all day, kids sometimes just want to plop down in a cozy chair or comfortable corner and do their work there? That’s why teachers keep a clipboard box in the classroom as a valuable mobile organization tool to help your child create a personalized clipboard that your child will want to use whenever he has homework. Clipboards are a very practical and very useful gift for children.

What should we buy cheap and wholesale?

pencils

You should buy standard pencil packs when they go on sale in August and September.

Think

Speaking from experience, young students lose their thoughts all the time. You can stick to regular pens and buy them in bulk at the start of the school year when they are cheapest.

Notebooks

Your kids will definitely end up using a notebook or two during the school year. it’s a better move to buy some in September when they’re cheapest.

folders

September is a great time to shop for supplies, as you can buy a lot of things in bulk for pennies, like folders and notebooks.

What “extras” we should have on hand

lunch box

Speaking from experience, young students lose their lunch box easily. Chances are your child will lose one at some point. So you can keep an extra generic lunch box so you don’t have the pressure to pay for a replacement during the school year.

Ruler, Glue, Scissors, Markers and Crayons

Keep extras of all of these art supplies available for your children to have available for all of their school projects.

Permanent marker

You will need to mark the items that your children bring to school – their lunch boxes and backpacks should be labeled so that you can easily retrieve them if they are ever lost or misplaced. You don’t want to have to buy replacement items.
