The best way to farm gold in WotLK is still the Auction House trade. This method of making gold worked perfectly in the Vanilla WoW era and The Burning Crusade, and still represents WotLK. I know some players may disagree, but I’m going to back up my opinion with some solid arguments as to why this method is so profitable.

Why is the auction house the best way to get gold in WotLK?

I have quite a few answers for this question. First of all, it doesn’t take too much time. If you know exactly what to look for and when to look at AH, just logging in for 10-15 minutes per day can earn you thousands. Of course, it takes a while until you get that experience, but once you do, there are endless possibilities.

Trading the Auction House does not require any effort or collecting which many players find boring. Also, you don’t need a high-level character, particular talent build, or endgame gear to earn money on the auction house. You can set up your auctions even with a level 1 character.

What do players need to trade on the auction house?

This method of making gold has some requirements. Just like I told you, you will need a few minutes a day to spend in the Auction House. Also, you need a good understanding of what sells best on your server. I know it may sound like a lot, but the Auctioneer plugin can fix it. Lastly, you need some gold to make some investments and get started. You can even start with some silver coins.

214748 gold, 36 silver and 47 copper! That’s the gold cap from World of Warcraft. If you trade things correctly in AH every day, you will eventually reach that amount of gold. I’ve managed to rack up this much gold on one of my characters, and that’s what makes me say that AH trading is the best way to get gold in WotLK.

What are the risks of trading with AH?

Well, there is a risk indeed. Investing gold in items that can see a significant drop in price overnight could result in you losing money. But hey, there’s no fun in it if you win every time. Anyway, once you get good at it, there is little chance of losing your investments.

Of course, there are other ways to make gold in WoW. But most of them involve the Auction House anyway. However, if you don’t like this method and prefer to farm or collect valuable items, you will eventually find the best way to farm gold in WotLK that suits your play style.
