The ins and outs of online product or service reviews

When it comes to buying a house, real estate agents always say: “Rent, rent, rent.” So what do we say when it comes to product or service reviews? “Investigate, investigate, investigate!” This is the best way to do your due diligence to avoid “buyer’s remorse” for us and the potential customer or affiliate.

Many of us tend to go on an impulse buy when those shiny, shiny things darken our doors, but resist the urge to splurge until you’ve checked it out. With all the brilliant salespeople and marketing campaigns out there to entice you toward that miracle product or service, you may have a battle in store for you. Again, take a breath, step back and take a good look. Haven’t you heard, “Patience is a virtue.” When it comes to product review, we want quality, again for ourselves and our potential customer.

These are questions to ponder as you look at each item or service:

  • How does the cost compare to similar products?
  • What are the advantages of the product or service?
  • What are the disadvantages?
  • Is the product/service easy to use or assemble?
  • Are the instructions written in a clear and easy to understand way?
  • Is there a customer service number or email address for support issues?
  • What is the return policy if you are not satisfied?
  • Would you recommend this product/service to someone else?
  • Why or why not?

There are several good ways to check the value by searching online or offline in different places:

  • Go to Google and search for your article
  • go to amazon
  • try ebay
  • Ask a friend or relative
  • Go to a local grocery store or department store, if they carry your product
  • Try ClickBank

My son says he reviews products on YouTube. Well, that’s a new one for me for the product review, but one to consider.

Also remember when shopping, some sites have product return limits. If you continually purchase and return, you may be blocked from any future purchases. Many companies consider this to be abuse, so be sure before you buy.

Once you’ve researched these issues, narrow down the products or services to one or a few, and do it. Write your article/blog about your product or service review. Don’t forget to mention each of the above questions and write a good summary. Everyone wants to know the ins and outs of the items you’ve reviewed. If you have been diligent, you can be sure to sign it with your name.

Happy review to you.
