Winds of change can carry us to a better place

At times all of us: we have been rejected, we have made mistakes, we have not been accepted for a position, we have had financial problems, etc.

You must keep moving forward and don’t give up on your visions or long-term plans for your life.

I’ve heard many say, “I’m too in debt, so I keep spending and collecting, which is another $ 100 when I owe $ 70,000 to my creditors.” The debt gets bigger and bigger until they make a change to do something that changes their lives.

I can’t stress enough that you shouldn’t be so hard on yourself because you can’t do anything about the past. If you learn from your past mistakes, then it was not a waste of your life. Sometimes the winds of change carry us in an entirely new direction.

For your financial solutions, you can consider bankruptcy as an option. How else could you pay your creditors, without incurring ongoing interest, and start over with a clean slate? A Chapter 7 bankruptcy can eliminate your debt, stop hiding from creditors, and be able to answer your phone again without the fear of being “chased” by a creditor.

Sometimes it’s good to look at those who might have given up, bury your head in the sand, and never surface again to try again. Whatever you’ve been through, keep moving in a positive direction.

For that reason, I provide you with names, dates, and events that happened to very successful people. Think of these names and move on:

• Walt Disney (1919): fired from newspaper job for lack of imagination.

• Lucille Ball (1926) – told the acting coach that “she’s wasting her time and bears.”

• John F. Kennedy (1936) – Runs for Harvard freshman class president and loses.

• Steven Spielberg (1960s): rejected by the Univ. Southeastern California film school.

• The Beatles (1962) – rejected by Decca Records.

• Vera Wang – Not on the US Olympic Figure Skating Team.

• Hillary Clinton – (1973) fails the DC ribbon.

• Oprah Winfrey – (1977) – fired from news anchor job for getting too emotionally involved in stories.

• Bill Clinton – (1980) – loses reelection as governor of Arkansas.

• Michael Bloomberg (1981): fired by the investment bank Salomon Brothers.

• Steve Jobs (1985): fired from Apple’s Macintosh division.

• JK Rowling (1996) – rejected 12 times for the Harry Potter manuscript.

Wow, the winds of change sent all these people to a better place. Changing and making changes is the only way forward or in another direction. Let the wind keep you from giving up and seeing yourself as a determined and strong individual.
