Christmas decoration with miniature villages

Every time the holidays roll in, stores start putting up decorations that encourage consumers to buy. Christmas village scenes are one of the most popular collectibles for consumers, and it is something that can grow over time and pass on to your heirs.

The miniature Christmas village scenes are very warm and inviting and can be placed around your home or gathered in a place for visitors and guests to admire. Although they may vary in the season depicted, each one will be transported to a winter wonderland in no time.

Some of the Christmas villages you can buy are animated, and you will see children ice skating around a sparkling blue pond while Christmas music plays softly in the background. Others may show a sleigh circling a snowy mountain with horse bells.

These vacation towns often have many different elements. There are houses with smoke coming out of the chimney and a scene that can be seen through the window of a family gathering to continue the traditions.

You can start with a single village scene and add a new one to it each year. You can buy Ebenezer Scrooge’s house or a collection of Christmas cabins that reproduce Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas tale.

Some of the Christmas villages are ancient in nature, taking you back to the old days, while others are more modern in style. Most are porcelain materials, so you need to be very careful not to let children roughly play with them, but there are also games that are made from less brittle materials.

One of the most popular village scenes is from the movie called A Christmas Story. You can buy Bumpus’s house, Ralphie’s in the snow, and even the department store where he professes his desire to have a Red Rider BB gun for the Santa store.

These collectible furnishing items are priceless because they take you to a different world and start a new family tradition. They also often end up being worth quite a bit over time. Show them in your own unique way.

As an example, I just found this illuminated Christmas village, shown right, wrapped around a tabletop tree (and, big surprise, had to have it). Beautifully designed, I also took a close up photo for you. Illuminated tree village.

Some people place artificial snow under and around the scene to counteract it from other decorations in the house. A woman used her fireplace with a glass shade to place a soft light to shine on her treasured village scene. The possibilities are limitless!
